Cincinnati Crankie Festival is a celebration of the art of the scrolling story!

Artists, storytellers, makers and musicians will gather to share in the rich tradition of Crankies — moving scrolls where image, word, and often song combine to whisk you away from this world to another! Crankie is an art form with historical roots in cultures from around the world but has held on through the test of time and is currently going through an American folk revival! Just when we need it most! Join us for a moment where the simple act of cranking becomes a spell, winding time, memory, and imagination together. Join us at Cincy’s inaugural crankie festival!
